Master Cheng Tin Hung was a Hong Kong-based teacher and practitioner of the art until his death in 2005. Cheng’s style was praised by commentators as being ‘practical for your health and self-defence’. Cheng also received the title of ‘Tai Chi bodyguard’.
Although there are many cultural and philosophical underpinnings to this art, the core idea is to understand Yin/Yang and learn to change between them – it’s all in balance. The idea behind martial arts is to use your opponent’s strength against you. It is therefore suitable for all ages. You can practice any of the 5 components of the art. For example, you might want to concentrate on the health and minimize the combat training.
