We aim at making learning engaging and varied experiences for all aspects throughout the week. The school is a social space and offers a wonderful opportunity to gain the skills how to be a part of the community who are around you. The goal of raising happy, resilient young individuals is a top priority for the state We believe taking a measured risk can help children navigate the world in a confident and secure manner. We employ Restorative Practices as our approach to resolve conflict, teaching people to identify the damage to relationships and build them up by doing acts of kindness.

Our vast grounds, which include our wetland (‘Yakai Baring” or “Surprise Track”) is a beautiful natural wonder in inner city Melbourne that provides our local community with opportunities to engage with the natural world as well as learn more about the ecosystem and to develop an understanding of environmental responsibility, and most of all – play and build! Children are encouraged to use sticks as a playground or build cubbies. They also play in the dirt, and join forces to accomplish amazing feats during lunch breaks.

Parents and carers are welcome to join our community by volunteering in the classroom or on the School Council or its sub-committees as well as fundraising and event coordination as they help preserve our natural playground, or sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm in their own ways. Every morning, our cafe-cafe canteen, Sprout, is filled with families chatting while sipping espresso and delicious home-cooked snacks and parent groups, and school events to fill the social calendar.
